My Project
Putting together live theater is no easy feat. Getting a group of actors and designers to work cohesively to create a unified final product requires a lot of time, dedication and money... as well as the generosity of donors!
Every year, I take great pride in designing and making the costumes for our annual musical productions.
I work with various groups of students - the costume crew as well as the actors in the show - to make the perfect looks for each person on stage. My goal is to make each and every child that gets one of my costumes feel special in a piece that was specifically designed for them and their character. In the Fall/Winter semester, we are going to be tackling a high-consuming needs piece: Beetlejuice! With this project, we are asking for some ready-made pieces, some of which will be worn as is and some of which will be altered to create our main character as well as some of the supporting characters.
Our students are a diverse group of children from all walks of life, who come together to create a theater family. They work tirelessly for months at a time to put together a show that they and the school can be proud of. They truly come alive when they are able to make theater together.
