Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students always ask me if we are going to dissect an animal or if we are going to do an actual lab. These questions kept me motivated to come up with engaging activities that would spark their curiosity and interest in the lessons that we are learning in class. I came to teach in my school last year and was eager to look for lab coats that we can use whenever we will be conducting labs. However, the labcoats I found in our stock room cabinet were all eaten up by rats. With a class set of lab coats, my students will be able to do dissections and some experiments that entail wearing PPE such as lab coats. This will also inspire them to act like future scientists wearing lab coats as they perform each lab activity.
