My Students
The students like to have hands-on experiences, such as pretend play, building, reading and exploring.Students in my classroom are at-risk children. Fourteen of the sixteen students either don't speak English or have limited English. These things may be a deterrent to getting ahead and being a success in life.
Many of our students do not have life experiences that many of us see as typical.
As they walk in my classroom I focus on the students in a positive and creative manner. These students have a great potential for growth in the right environment. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day by providing a safe place for their academic learning. I want to inspire even our earliest learners to academic excellence and success.
My Project
My students need Community Helper Costumes and pretend stethoscopes as dramatic play materials to be able to explore career opportunities and become aware of the community helpers within our neighborhood. The children will be able to use these materials during work time, small group and large group. Through role playing and acting out, the students will become conscious of careers and gain a sense of community.
Your generous donation to our project will improve our Pre-K classroom by building stronger citizens.
This will change their lives for the better by creating community acceptance and inspiring students to reach for goals they would otherwise not be aware of. They will love school and gain a sense of achievement at an early age while having fun learning.
