My students need computers to explore simulations and complete research projects. CPS's recommended science curriculum uses an online interface and simulations, and so requires one-to-one technology to fully leverage this new resource.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a multitude of cultural backgrounds and have varying learning styles. I am lucky to be able to accommodate students with diverse learning needs, giving them access to rigorous, differentiated science instruction.
My students are so excited about science.
Our curriculum includes a lot of inquiry-based learning, and they are thriving with all the hands-on exploration they get to do. One of my students actually said to me "I was never really into science before. I mean, it was ok, but I was never really engaged before." They all deserve to continue to experience science as being FOR them.
My Project
We all know that students will need strong technological skills to succeed in STEM and other careers in the future. I want to give my students a foundation for this success. I also hope to make my classroom a little easier on the earth by using Google Classroom and other online tools to reduce the amount of paper we use in class.
More and more science instruction is happening online, and in order to leverage these resources, my students need computers!
Our school does not yet have the resources to provide each classroom with a set of computers, and many students do not have reliable technology at home. Please help me increase my students' access to technology, improving their chances for a bright future in STEM!
