My students come from a very diverse economic background as well as multicultural background. We are a dual language school and many of the students come from Mexico, Guatemala and Colombia to name a few countries.
Being a dual language teacher I was also born in Colombia South America .I also know what it feels like to not be able to have many of the supplies that many of my fellow students had.
I would love to give my students the same opportunities in being able to learn in two languages and grow in all areas of education.
My students will perform a readers theater with multicultural costumes and food. These performances will be performed for other grade levels to learn about multicultural nations. Students will learn fluency thru the dramatic plays and learn communication as well.
These multicultural books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create.
My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, and they perform their readers theater there. They read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-. Students will be able to choose these multicultural books, which will help them learn more about their cultural background and continue to enjoy independent reading time.
