My Students

My students are amazing! Despite high poverty and low income is a common way of life for the majority of my students, they come to school ready to learn. I want to provide them with not only a stable environment but one filled with positive and rewarding experiences. My school is a Title I school where over 75% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

My students come from different backgrounds and life situations with school being a place where they can feel safe and be themselves.

Many of my students experience daily trauma. They know that our classroom is a safe place for them to be. My students love to be active and in motion around the classroom. They love to participate in group activities. They are intelligent, hard-working, creative learners. They are curious and inquisitive. They are eager to grow and learn. They want to show me just how far they can go.

My Project

This opportunity to see the 9/11 Museum and Memorial, which represents many selfless people and heroes, will offer an astounding amount of insight and knowledge to our students.

Many of our 4th and 5th grade students have taken a deep interest in this event and the aftermath, so we would like to provide them with an experience which will give them more information and knowledge of what happened that very day.

Giving our students the possibility to participate in this virtual field trip will help them understand the event in more detail and give them an experience they may not otherwise have chance to see.
