My Students
Our school is a dual language school dedicated to bridging the Deaf and hearing communities in New York City. Our PK-8th grade students come from every borough of NYC. The majority are Children of Deaf Adults (CODAs). We offer the LEAST RESTRICTIVE environment for Deaf students in the NYC DOE.
Our Reggio-Emilia inspired Pre-K program was established more than two decades ago, and our master teachers guide our youngest students to become emotionally-responsive observers of themselves, the world, and others.
My Project
The items I am requesting will create a warm, inviting space for students to read and learn. Our school is almost a hundred years old and the bright colors of the carpet will liven up an otherwise dreary room. I plan to use the carpet in the front of the room for large-group instruction. The smaller carpet and bean bags would be used to create a cozy library nook to encourage students to read and promote literacy well beyond the classroom. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
