This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district; my students (special education, general education, and gifted students) are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experience
My students think of innovative ideas and different ways to express themselves.
Due to the lack of materials and equipment, my students sometimes are not able to put their fabulous ideas into action. My goal is to help each student see their potential for learning and to help them grow academically. Each child in my classroom is different, and it can be challenging to adjust my learning plan to fit every student. Fortunately, technology in education can help in modifying my lessons. To achieve this goal, I would like to create a functional environment which meets the learning style of every student in my class. I want to provide a place that is safe, healthy and comfortable to work and learn in that makes each student look forward to coming to class every day.
My Project
Technology used in support with teaching and learning, infuses classrooms with digital learning tools and builds 21st century skills; increases student engagement and motivation; and accelerated learning.
Technology differentiates for needs of students.
The Kindle Fire tablets will be used by the students every day. They will use them daily to read literature (media, prose, poetry, nonfiction and drama)at their correct reading level. This will ensure that students stay engaged, but will also keep them accountable for their reading. They will also be used to make practicing math (geometry, number and operations) fun by being able to access a variety of math sights. In addition they will be used for further research when needed during writing, math, and science. In today’s world, technology is something that all students must be comfortable with. They will be better equipped to do so with access to these tablets in our class!
