My Students

My students are 6th, 7th and 8th graders from a rural area in Utah! They are passionate about exploring all that the world of theater and art has to offer. This year we have started teaching Illustration and video editing. To the students this has been a world they have heard of for many years but have never been taught how to join. We as a school are taking them through the fundamentals to the many different jobs illustrators hold. They are creating characters, worlds and stories that they may have had locked away. It's amazing to see some who say they can't draw break out and see that everyone can draw if they are just given the right tools. They want to learn every aspect of the creative world to see where their interests lie and we are providing that.

My Project

These items will help the students unlock the many stories they have inside. It will help them ink the graphic novel pages they are creating for their portfolios. Also providing a high quality paper for their final assignment in the class. It gives them real life tools that they will use outside of school to create allowing them to learn now how to use those tools before hand. They will be allowed to experiment with ink and brushes. Getting them back to traditional art before they take on the world of digital art.
