My Students

My students are wonderful! They are inquisitive, interested, and willing to work hard. With 3 different 5th grade classes, there are over 99 students. We are departmentalized, so we get to know each and every student. The students come from various backgrounds, many speaking multiple languages, which makes for a unique classroom.

As in every classroom, the learning styles vary with each individual student.

However, this class excels when it come to hands-on activities. They love to work collaboratively to try to investigate issues or solve problems.

My Project

Artie Robots will help students build upon their growing and expanding knowledge of coding. Students will use the robots to code what they will want Artie the robot to draw. Technology is always evolving and changing and it is important for students to learn different aspects of technology in order to keep up with the changing world and its technological needs.

Learning to code should be an essential component of every child's learning, as should art education.

Artie the robot combines coding and art, and would be a great way for students to have real life experience with coding and being able to create something from that code.
