My Students

I mentor a staff of journalism students who all have a passion for creativity and content production. Each of my students has a unique perspective and contributes a point of view which keeps even me learning each and every day.

As we produce our newspaper, yearbook, and online articles, our students are given a voice in our community.

For my classroom, each opportunity to integrate their own ideas into our journalism curriculum is welcomed and cherished. I hope and do believe that most young adults that go through my class find a way to express themselves in a world where many people try to silence others.

My Project

These materials would give my students a huge boost in the quality and speed of graphics that we create for not only our newspaper, but also yearbook and online website. This would allow us to have a better resource for transferring our comic artists' ideas into a digital format and introduce students to sometimes difficult to understand technology so they will be proficient by their later school years when they might have leadership roles in our classroom. All in all, these tablets will be another useful resource for our students to help produce better content and learn more in my classroom.
