I am an art teacher, and due to the changes in technology, cameras and editing apps/software are needed to keep up with the technology in our world of art. The iPad Minis I am requesting will be used for students to explore still-life arrangements with the camera and editing applications.
The students will use the iPad Minis to take photos of a subject, with the goals of exploring different still-life arrangements, lighting, and angles of the photograph.
After the photos are taken, the applications on the iPads will also help the students edit their photos so they can ensure a great composition for their drawings.
Due to this being a high school drawing class, many goals are included in this project. The first major goal of this project is for students to explore the arrangements of a subject, angles of a subject, and lighting and shadows on the subject. Secondly, students will use the photographs to plan out their outlines and lastly to add shading. For every major step, the photo will be used to complete this still-life drawing.
My Students are special because they are learning the discipline of drawing. The discipline of any activity helps to build confidence and empowers students in how they see the world. They will learn to overcome the tough parts of the assignment and succeed. For the last 18 years at my high school, I have taught 6 sections of drawing with 25 students per section. The items/tools I am requesting will impact 150 students every year.
