My Students

No matter the situation, our students' enthusiasm for our school and art is amazing. The population of the students at our school comes from a mixture of low to middle income families. They come from backgrounds that don't allow them to do things that most students get to do. Art to some of them isn't an option because there are other more important essentials.

Our students come from a mixture of different cultures and art is a way I can connect with them and connect them with our school.

Art is universal and I feel that is what helps our students with different backgrounds be successful at our school. Getting students to graduate is something that I can do as an elective teacher. When they are excited to come to school so that they don't miss out in art is wonderful to me. Hearing them say, "I didn't want to miss this class," makes me feel proud to be a teacher.

My Project

These big drawing tablets will allow my students to create a work of art on the computer that will show off their drawing skills. The students will be creating Illustrations for their books using the drawing tablets.

Students will take a story, that they have written, and with the drawing tablets they will be able to make their illustrations come to life so that their story can be told effectively.

Normally my students would use a mouse or small drawing tablet to create their illustrations. This can be challenging because the space to draw is very limited and with these drawing tablet it will make it much easier for them to focus on their illustrations.
