Drawing Like Diego

Help me give my students the tools they need to create their own masterpieces in oil pastels, just like the artists they are learning about.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a dual immersion charter school. As a teacher, I try to provide my students, primarily English learners, with as many visual aids and extra tools as possible.

As an all-inclusive charter school, we emphasize biliteracy and the arts, by administering hands-on materials to make learning equitable for all diverse learning abilities.

With this Arts and Language Development rich environment, it is important to provide students with engaging lessons in science as well, so they can understand the world around them. Help me provide engaging lessons.

My Project

This trimester, our focus is on Visual Arts. As we are tying it to our curriculum of diversity, we are learning about the artists of color.

Having the proper tools, such as oil pastels and actual artists paper will enable these budding artists to create a masterpiece, just like Diego Rivera.

Being able to create art like a person of color, just like our population reflects, allows our students to relate more to the curriculum. Please help my students find their creative voice by donating to this project for really awesome kids!
