The drawing paper and pencils we work with every day do not hold up to heavy use. In order for my art students to complete quality work, a prismacolor pencil is the perfect choice. Combined with heavy weight paper, the projects turn out great. The compasses and pencils will replace those broken.
I teach at a Public High School.
We have a very diverse population with many immigrant and non-English speaking students. Our community combines an inner-city population with suburban. My students are fabulous and I learn new things from them every day. Their needs and problems are as diverse as they are and we work together to find creative solutions.
My Project
The compasses wiill allow students to create circles in their art work without creating frustration. The heavyweight paper will allow student work to be drawn on in layers without tearing and the completed work will last many years. They will be able to look back and see what they created in high school. The prismacolor pencils allow students to layer the colors to create new colors and to give greater depth to the designs.
Each year my budget is cut and I have to choose poorer quality supplies for my students to work with.
The materials I have chosen are a higher grade quality that will enable students to create a higher grade product. The compass's I chose are not prone to breaking and will last longer than what we have been using.
