This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I've had the amazing opportunity to welcome a kind, diverse group of scholars to my classroom - and for many of them, this is their first experience with the school environment at all.
My school serves some of the highest need students in our area, and I want to set a foundation for academic success.
My students bring a variety of languages, cultures, and backgrounds to our classroom, and many of them are still learning how to be ready to learn at school. However, each and every child has such a great potential to learn and we have high academic expectations for our 1st grade scholars!
My Project
My favorite part of starting a new school year is the excitement of seeing my students begin to understand what writing is! We start with drawing pictures based on our thoughts, then into labeling them and eventually writing words. These primary composition notebooks with space to draw are always the perfect fit for beginning writers!
When students begin to connect their pictures into words to make a story, this is where most students begin to love writing!
Please help us to have notebooks for all of my students to use throughout the school year and foster a love for writing.
