Help me give my students new materials to enhance the Drawing Center in my choice based classroom, including new markers, oil pastels, and organizational supplies!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are not stopped by poverty. Though they live in the Arkansas Delta and many have never left the town they live in, they are hungry for information and eager to create in my art room.
My students are part of a rural farming community where approximately 98% of them receive free or reduced-price lunch.
They live in poverty but do not allow that to define them. These students are creative, innovative, and energetic! Nothing can hold them back, and I want to make sure they have everything they need to succeed in the art classroom.
My Project
My classroom uses centers to allow students to make choices about what art they make each day. Although there are many material choices and options, the drawing center is a staple that many students flock to. I am asking for materials to help expand my drawing center and allow my students to make even more awesome art!
My students love to draw and would love to have these materials available to use.
I have included new markers and oil pastels, materials that are lacking in the center currently. I have also included many organizational supplies to help the center be managed more smoothly. A mini-trash can was requested by a student to gather small pieces cut from artworks. Several drawing books are included as well as a drawing game!
