Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Full day preschool is packed with lots of activities and entertainment. My students and I love to fill our day with hands-on activities, exciting stories, songs, dancing and of course free choice play.
We function as a school family that is supportive and inclusive of everyone.
My classroom is made of both general education students and itinerant IEP students. My students are all at different levels of learning. A handful of my students are able to identify all the capital and lowercase letters of the entire alphabet while others are only able to recognize the first letter of their name. Through whole group and small group discussions we engage in learning together to provide an area of supportive learning for all.
My Project
My students draw in their journals daily. Currently, they use an assortment of crayons as our marker supply has run low. Depending on the dullness of the crayon tip, it is often hard to see the details in their work.
These markers will help them revamp their journal drawing with bright colors and fine lines.
As we continue to learn about the details in our clothing and facial features it will be great to have these drawing materials so that they can include more details in their work. Having a variety of art materials will help them explore texture, patterns, shadows, and help bring their illustrations to life.
