My Students

My students are creative innovators, hard workers, collaborators, and deserve the chance to experience a STEAM filled world. STEAM was a new special added to my school this year that I am ecstatic to teach for all grades 1-6.

In our STEAM class, students are challenged to be inquisitive about the world around us, build confidence in themselves, and see how the power of team work and ambition can change the world.

When my students come in my room, they are provided the atmosphere and opportunity to seek their potential in areas they struggled with or that they never even knew about! They deepen their learning in all general education subjects while building life skills that will prepare them for multiple up and coming careers.

My Project

The mini-robots I'm requesting are truly the key to taking my students' learning to the next level. My students have just begun learning more about STEM related concepts - especially coding and technology - and these resources will allow them to see their creations and skills come alive! These resources put the "A" in STEAM by giving students a way to connect creativity with technology in a world that is constantly evolving. Students gain cognitive skills by seeing their drawings turn to code in a simplistic and engaging way. Students will start in younger grades and use markers to make designs that are read by their robots, then progress to coding through technology, and reach their end goal in 6th grade of programming their robot to accomplish incredible tasks, integrating all subject areas!

With these tools, students will have a space to feel empowered after mastering skills in programming, team building, and innovative thinking - seeing their learning transform from colored paper to technological programming.

Sphero and Ozobots are STEAM based, so they put forth the importance and entertainment in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. The 4 C's of STEAM are emphasized in each lesson plan by incorporating Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical Thinking. It is a robotic experience like no other because it allows their educational experience to be more than just technology based. These robots will CHANGE the look and feel of instruction in my STEAM classroom.
