My Students

I am a special education teacher working with students in the inclusion classrooms at CDHS. I also serve as the Drama Coach for the school. Prior to this year, our students had to go outside the school to find any type of theater involvement. I am proud to have brought these opportunities to CDHS!

Students who may have previously been isolated are able to find like-minded peers to share and celebrate their love of the stage!

We are able to emphasize social skills, self-confidence, and poise through our lessons! Our students hope to build their skills to one day, be able to put on a performance!

My Project

Our new drama club is in need of resources! I would like to be armed with great exercises for my students to grow their skills and become more confident, not just as thespians, but as citizens in our community!

By practicing these skills, I hope that my students will be able to become active participants in their theater communities.

It is my hope that the students will take what they learn and become productive members of our culture!

The books that have been requested will help me as a teacher, be better able to help my students with any needs that may arise! They are full of activities to do as whole groups and as individuals for practice on things such as stage presence, using your whole body to portray your character, and so much more! I have also included books full of audition songs. Working in a low socioeconomic area, my kids don't always have access to sheet music and don't know the theater classics. I hope to be a resource for the kids, and be able to supply whatever they may need! My students are excited to hit the ground running and appreciate your support! We hope to see you at our next performance!
