My preschool classroom can have a total of 15 students. The students walk into my classroom every day full of energy and ready to learn. Seventy percent of our population is from low income/high poverty families. Finding the resources to make learning fun, safe, and educational is difficult when in a low income school district.
We are very proud that our students and staff have helped us reach a 5 star rating from our Step Up To Quality Program.
They not only walk into my rooms every morning, they make their way into my heart as well.
Our preschool program is based around learning through play. Each day students engage in dramatic play centers where their imaginations run wild. With these new dramatic play toys, students will be able to learn about other cultures through food choices such as the sushi play set and learn about ordering at a restaurant with the pasta play set and the waitress dress up outfit.
Play encourages communication, improves cognitive development, and also builds relationship between students.
With this project my students will get to explore new items in our dramatic play centers that they normally would not due to lack of funding.
