Help me give my students a place they can work on their social skills. The Pretend Play Combo Kitchen will allow them to practice how to share, problem solve and cooperate with others.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at my charter school come from low income families, many receiving reduced price or free lunch and come from bilingual homes. For those entering transitional kindergarten and kindergarten, we may be their first introduction to a school. I want to provide the best learning environment for them by having opportunities for them to learn through play.
My Project
The Pretend and Play Combo Kitchen will be placed in my classroom and used as a workstation daily. When using this play space my students will be able to practice cooperation, problem solving and language development through play.
For many of my students this is their first experience in a school environment and have not had an opportunity to learn how to share or solve problems with their peers and having this play space will give them the opportunity to practice these skills.
Thank you for your support in helping my students.
