Help me give my students a dramatic play set with a kitchen, interactive play set such as a market to play with, and a dress up center so they can be community helpers.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a special education inclusion room in a low-income school district, my students are faced with challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges that my students are facing, I am looking to provide them with a fun, interactive, and meaningful learning environment.
My students have a multitude of needs including physical, cognitive, medical, fine motor, sensory, and communication.
They love learning through a multitude of different means such as sensory activities. They learn best though creative and sensory activities.
My Project
A dramatic play center allows students to learn about math, reading, writing, social skills and more through play. During centers, students are able to apply the skills that we have been working on throughout the day. The students are able to practice real world skills that they will need in the future. They are able to learn about community helpers and what roles they play in the community. I have seen a amazing improvement in my students social skills as they are able to learn through play. The materials that are on this donation will help us make a great dramatic play area. The kitchen set, dress up rake and the ansty pants materials will allow up to rotate our dramatic play area so that our students can learn about the world.
With these new materials, my students will be able to learn about many different jobs that you can have around the world.
The best way that students learn is through play. With a dramatic play center, our students will be able to learn real world applications and be able to learn how to socialize with each other.
My students have already show a interest in wanting to learn through play about the world around them.
