This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a second year teacher in Head Start. My students are 3 years old, from low income and poverty stricken homes, in Hopewell, Virginia. They are learning to socialize and effectively use language skills to communicate with their peers and teachers.
Dramatic play offers many benefits to learning, children feel empowered, because they are able to use their imaginations, while also building language and social skills.
Each of my students are learning and growing, but we are in need of items that will increase their success.
My Project
The dramatic play clothes will allow students to use their imaginations to be anyone that they want to be. They will be able to use and develop language and social skills to communicate with peers through their pretend play.
Students will be able to pretend to be anything or anyone that they want to be, which shows them that in real life situations, they are capable of doing anything!
This project will help students develop and enhance language/communication and social skills. By incorporating various materials, it will prompt creativity and allow for enhanced child development.
