My Project

Preschool children learn about the world around them by observation. They see then they act out what they know. One of the simplest examples of this is the dramatic play area. Children observe their caregivers cook and serve their families. Children enter the home living center with these same intentions, ready to work out what they’ve experienced at home. I’m in a new classroom this year with a diverse group of children. I started the year with one piece of play food…a piece of celery. I now have another room’s leftovers, but by no means do I have a suitable set of food and accessories where my children can explore the way they deserve. They’re not gaining nutritional guidance or being represented ethnically! The food I’ve requested will give my children the chance to interact socially while pretending to cook for family and friends!
