My Students
My students always look forward to dramatic play time. It's a time where they role play and get to be what they want to be. With this dramatic play refrigerator and furniture, students can emulate their parents and create the perfect home environments.
My four year old students experience school for the first time this year.
About 85% of my students come from low income households and 100% are students of color. School can be my students' safe haven, if only they have access to the right resources.
My Project
Research shows dramatic play in early childhood teaches self regulation that makes them better students by improving self control and interaction with peers. This project will teach them self regulation and improve play and social skills. It will also teach them how to work along with peers. Their success in prekindergarten will be just the beginning of their success in their elementary school career.
