Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have been a kindergarten teacher for five years. In these five years, I have learned what benefits my students academically, socially, and emotionally.
Kindergarten has become rigorous.
It is not the kindergarten you remember. However, these are still 5-year-old and 6-year-old children. Because kindergarten has become more rigorous, there isn't much time for play throughout the day except for recess. My students have time for centers every day, and there, they get to play with some toys once they finish their assignments. However, I want to add a dramatic play center because research has shown that dramatic play enhances children's emotional development as well as their language development. The furniture would be used to store the items for dramatic play.
As mentioned above, I have been a kindergarten teacher for 5 years. Next year, I am moving classrooms. I have had to take down my bulletin boarders and decorations. My new classroom needs brand-new decorations to help my students feel excited about coming to school every day.
