This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach high school in a low-income district. We have a only tiny budget to buy necessary supplies with each year. I want to provide access to more technology for my students, since they will need to be proficient in these areas for college.
I teach Art and Introduction to Drama. My drama students have been working on their own plays - writing the scripts, rehearsing, directing, etc - and I need a way to record their rehearsals for review/critique, as well as a way to record the actual performances to be used for future students to study.
I need a camcorder to film various rehearsals and performances by my students. These recordings will be reviewed and discussed to help make improvements and let the students self-critique their own performances. Students who are not acting in a particular play can help operate the camera and edit the performances to make finished recordings which can be archived for future use.
With your help, my drama students can have access to the tools of technology to help enhance and fine-tune their performances, as well as build skills in operating the technology which can help them as they move on to higher education and career options. Please support this project so my students can have the chance to view and critique their performances.
