Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our School was built on an old Air Field. Students learn about Helen Mcbride in the 1950s taking fight right here where they sit in the classroom.
I want to bring flight back to our school.
My goal is to create a Drone club with 4th and 5th grade students with the requested drones and goggles. Over the course of 9 weeks students will learn the ins and out of a drone, the correct vocabulary of flight, yaw, pitch, roll, throttle. Students will also hone their spatial skills including spatial reasoning and orientation.
Students will also work in small groups to problem solve technical issues, map out and create a course at the end of the 9 weeks to show off what they know in an amazing air show. The world of drones can lead to a career in flight and beyond!
