My Students

My students are hungry readers. They read for pleasure regularly, but they have not learned the art of reading between the lines to find the author's message.

My students love to read.

I have a very small classroom library. There is so much wonderful literature available for kids to read. This series from James A. Owen has piqued the interest of my students, and I want to be able to take advantage of that interest.

My Project

I go to garage sales, place want ads on-line, and get books for my students to read any way I can. As a new 5th grade teacher, my classroom library is limited. I need class sets of books for my students to read. By funding this grant you will provide my students with two titles to read as a class. That is enough books so that every student can read a book at the same time. Your donation will allow future classes of students to enjoy this literature as well.

These kids are college bound.

Yes, it will take them a while to get there, but in the meantime I want to make sure that they have high quality, appropriate literature to read and encourage them to grow intellectually. My kids need books -- it's as simple as that.
