My Project

At RES, we use a student store to reinforce positive behaviors through rewards. All of the teachers are equipped with dragon dollars that they hand out to our hard-working students when they follow the 3 Bs- Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe. This behavior management intervention not only reaches the entire student body, TK-5th grade, but it is also a simple and efficient way for staff to demonstrate appreciation for following safety and kindness expectations.

The items requested for this project, cars, Uno, party favors, clay kits, and more, were specifically chosen to make the students excited about this intervention system while promoting behaviors that help them focus in class.

We want the students to want to earn dragon dollars, so they feel motivated to practice the 3 Bs. The goal of this project is to have a supply of interesting and exciting rewards for the student store, promoting participation in the intervention and the classroom.

The students at RES are growing up in an urban environment, surrounded by hardship, yet every day they come to school and do their best to learn and meet their goals. They are resilient and persistent students who are attempting to embody the growth mindset while navigating the difficulties of childhood.
