My Students

At our Title I elementary school, we have students ranging from preschoolers to third graders. Each week over 500 bright, fun, unique students come visit our Library Media Center where we share wonderful books, stories, and STEM activities.

Our students are eager learners who love to read, create, and explore the world around them.

Each class has a diverse group of students and our goal is to meet their needs. One thing that we know our students love is a great story! Our Library Media Center is working to build an environment that appeals to all the incredible students who enter to learn each week.

My Project

Ask any of our students and teachers who their favorite author is and you can bet that Dr. Seuss will be at the top of the list! Our Library Media Center has a collection of his most famous works that continue to be enjoyed by students and faculty each week.

Our collection of Dr. Seuss books, however, dates back to the early 70's making the copies almost 50 years old!

We desperately need to update these classic books so that our students can continue to enjoy and learn from this most beloved author.

Dr. Seuss reaches across every generation and helps students learn reading skills such as fluency, rhyming, comprehension, and phonics.
