My Project
As I am creating our classroom library I try to make sure the books are relevant and what my students love to read. When I introduced Dr. Seuss books and videos to them it was an instant success! We are a classroom of Dr. Seuss books and decorations.
The books I have chosen provide relevant information in a child like setting with memorable characters they love.
They are not only learning to read and-or improving their reading they are enjoying it and learning content while reading.
My student make connections from the content being taught in Language Arts to the books they are reading. Seeing them read a page and tell me the words that rhyme or have alliteration when I think they did not understand the concept is amazing.
The words choice in his books provides my student with words they know and grow with all while increasing their confidence in their reading abilities. The level 1, 2 and 3 being shown on the front of some of the book allows them to instantly see growth in their reading.
