Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have a classroom full of students that love to learn, create, read and explore.
They come from families heavily engaged in our local economies such as energy production and agriculture.
They enjoy activities such as Robotics, various sports, Choir, Music, Battle of the Books Math Bowl, and Academic Pentathlon. Their eagerness is infectious and creates an exciting learning environment!
I don't think it's just hopeful thinking to say that our students will be our communities future leaders, educators and innovators!
My Project
The activities and books I am requesting will provide my students with challenging, interesting activities that will enhance their learning and correlate with NGSS.
I'm excited to see the students taking thoughtful risks, engaged in experiential learning, persistent in problem-solving, embracing collaboration and working through the creative process.
My hope is that these activities and books will spark new fires in our students and encourage them to investigate their own ideas. The confidence boost earned from STEAM activities is extraordinary and effects their attitude in other areas of study. Whether it is science, art or coding, the students learn invaluable skills.
