This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a very active group students! The school is 100% free and reduced lunch. Every student also receives a free breakfast every morning. We are a high poverty and high needs area.

As a bilingual community we come together to support each other as well as create a safe environment for students to share their feelings and learning.

The students feeling of safety is increased through shared experiences. Through project based learning the learning is purposeful and more meaningful.

My Project

My students need a Dash Robot to continue their advancement in 21st century learning skills. Students are expected to have a diverse set of skills as they continue their educational journey. The skill set needs to include an exposure and introduction to programming and coding.

When students have the exposure to coding it encourages them to explore careers in scientific fields as well as math and computers.

Dot and Dash are an easy fit into a third grade classroom to begin our journey into coding. The bots allow for beginner students to advanced students to create and produce. Students will use their creativity to interact with the bots in ways only they could think of.
