Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The majority of our students come from low income families and deserve every opportunity to learn and thrive.
Our Developmental K-2 class is made of up special needs children who deserve the chance to access the curriculum in a way that is engaging and understandable to the complex learners that they are.
Our children are both verbal and non verbal and have a variety of needs including Autism Spectrum Disorders, visually impaired and Down Syndrome. In order for them to access the curriculum they need a variety of supplies that are adapted to help children with a variety of needs.
My Project
Our kids made so much progress this year! The 'Dot and Learn' books and letter tracing cards will help all our learners - some will develop new skills, other's will practice learned skills!
Seeing their faces light up when they "get it" makes what we do that more special.
We can use the Dot and Learn Books and Letter Tracing cards to make summer packets so that our kids don't lose the skills they worked on all year long! Since some of our kids come from low income homes, they don't come to school with snack and the Pirates Booty is a class favorite!
