My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. My students are all different types of learners and have various backgrounds. I have students who do not speak English, students with disabilities, and some students who are homeless.

I teach at a Title I school in the Bronx, New York where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Many of my students receive food and clothing from the school's charity drives. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.

My Project

These materials will help keep germs at bay in our classroom. With cold and flu season in full swing, a few of my students are sick every week. Unfortunately, their parents are not able to take time off work, so they send the students to school sick many times.

In addition to cold and flu germs, this year roaches and other bugs have also been a major problem.

This year because of scheduling, the students eat lunch at one in the afternoon and therefore we have to have snack in the classroom. This has caused us to have these visitors and we need your help to keep our classroom clean and bug free as much as possible
