My Students

Sir James Dewar once said, "Minds are like parachutes. They only function when they are open." Please consider your donation a ripcord to my students' parachutes. This financial program will open up my students' minds and brighten their future.

My school is an alternative learning center for students that struggle with learning in a traditional environment.

Up until this year, these 6th, 7th, and 8th graders did not have "a place of their own" but mixed in with the 9th - 12th graders. That is about to change this coming school year. My classroom is a newly created classroom for these students so that they may soar and show their true potential. There is a plethora of reasons why a student would be placed with me, but the goals remain the same; to help these students become life long learners and productive citizens with good character. All 15 of my students are unique and talented with a variety of learning styles and diverse needs. My classroom will be filled with many opportunities for success and this project is only a part of that.

My Project

This project is all about the kids learning about the world of money and finance. The EverFi Financial Literacy for High School system is a computer based program that will teach the students about all areas of finance. It is highly motivating with it graphics and details. It has the potential to impact my students future beyond their imagination and at the same time, have them learning life skills necessary for them to be productive members in their community and the world. This program connects what they are learning in math and other subjects to the real world.

The skills learned with this project will go far with my goals for these students - for them to be life long learners and productive citizens with good character. The value of your donation is much more than the dollar amount but the investment in the future. Thank you for your consideration.
