Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My 3rd grade class of 25 students is the most giving group of children that I have worked with. Just two weeks into school I already know that their caring personalities are going to make a difference in this world. The day after Hurricane Katrina hit the States my students wanted to have a discussion about what they saw and heard. Their mature comments and concern was amazing. Each day they continue to ask me what they can do to help. They are loving school and they can't stand the idea that children their age are being put through the disastrous experience that Hurricane Katrina has faced them with. My students have many hard situations to deal with themselves, but they know that other people have it worse off than them right now. They want to help! My class would like to send a care package to students affected by the hurricane. The care package would include school supplies so the students can start learning again as soon as possible. My students, who come from low-income households, would learn so much from this experience. They would learn to have empathy for people that they don't even know. Their characters would grow stronger after this selfless act which would help the lives of other children. My class wants to help in any way they can. With help from your donation, you would be helping students affected by the hurricane, as well as my 3rd grade students.
