Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I work in a small, charter school in a high-poverty area. I teach a fourth grade classroom in a collaborative teaching model.

We have a small classroom with 25 students and rectangular tables that do not allow for privacy but do allow for many distractions during independent work and testing situations.

My students need to have privacy during testing and independent work. I have students that have attentional needs who are easily distracted by everything, especially during independent work time. The use of privacy partitions will help these students to focus on their work and avoid potential distractions. The small group dividers will help our students when they have to take tests. We have rectangular tables in our classroom, not desks, so trying to divide students during a test presents a difficult situation. The small group dividers will help students focus on the challenging fourth grade assessments that they will have to take this year. Affording students with individual work spaces that are distraction free will help them to focus on testing and doing their best work.

We need your help to provide our students with the opportunity to have a quiet work space that is free from distraction and allows for independent work time to be productive.
