This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in an impoverished area of South Los Angeles. All of my students come from low-income families. We are a Title I school where ninety nine percent of our students receive free meals. My students always try their best at everything and anything despite the challenges that they face in their daily lives.
They are already not expected to have it as easy as others, but we learn that with hard work and consistency, they can be "unique" or different from the rest.
My students are so eager to learn that it makes coming to work easy!
My Project
Hello, thank you for looking at my project. I am kindly requesting books for my classroom library. I am requesting the Diary of a Wimpy Kid collection, the Dog Man collection as well as the Bad Guys collection.
These books are a perfect companion for any reluctant reader as they help them to overcome their reading barriers and develop a real and lasting love of reading.
The layout, style, and content make them excellent for all readers.
I have observed reluctant readers, including many English Language Learners, become captivated by the Diary of a Wimpy Book series, Dog Man and Bad Guys. Students will primarily use these books during Readers Workshop, which is when they choose books at their levels and to their liking to read.
I also included a book scanner to my project because I would like to keep a library system where my students can check out and check in books. This would allow me to keep track of my books and what my students are reading.
