This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With the Food Group books, I plan to teach idioms and discuss how we act, as students, can impact our classroom. To be a "bad seed" is not helpful. However being a "good egg," will positively impact our classroom. These are funny and engaging books that will make children laugh.
A student learning English can look at pictures and derive meaning.
This year, my classroom compromises of 6 languages. I already have many language books, such as Chuukese, but I need to build my Arabic library. The Arabic books are simple picture dictionaries to help students make connections between Arabic and English.
