My Students

My students are inquisitive, knowledge-hungry third graders who love to create art while learning new concepts and skills. My students come from diverse backgrounds. Our school is located in the heart of Honolulu with many students who attend our school from all over the world. We are a Title I school with a high population of ELL (English Language Learners) learners and students receiving free or reduced-price meals.

My students are engaged when art is used to make learning fun.

They extend their learning through drawing using watercolor.

My Project

The watercolor pencils, brushes and paper will be used to support our third quarter science activities for all students. They will use it to express their thinking during the art and science lesson.

Students will also be using the Watercolor supplies (pencil, brushes and watercolor paper) in art and science lessons for the third quarter.

Students will be creating their individual cover picture for their biodiversity field journal using watercolor supplies and techniques. The watercolor supplies will also be used for a collage that they will make for the unit.

Like Nelson Mandela said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
