My Students
My students are inquisitive, knowledge-hungry third graders who love to create art while learning new concepts and skills. My students come from diverse backgrounds. Our school is located in the heart of Honolulu with many students that attend our school from all over the world. We are a Title 1 school with a high population of ELL learners and students on free/reduced-price meals.
My students are engaged when math and reading centers are integrated into their daily learning.
They extend their learning through centers.
My Project
During daily instruction, students have opportunities to learn through differentiated instruction. With centers, students are able to have meaningful leaning experiences that focuses on math and reading concepts already taught. They can enhance their learning at their own pace. The Vocabulary Cards and Self Checking Language Practice will be part of the reading centers. The Daily Practice Journal and Daily Math Journal will be used in the morning as part of the students' morning work period. The Math Test Prep cards will be used in small groups during our math block.
Students will use the resources to reinforce and learn vocabulary, practice math concepts, and review language arts skills.
They will be able to use what they learned in whole group instruction and apply it in reading centers as well as math centers. They will also use what they learned in centers and apply it to real world experiences in their daily life.
