My Students
My students are inquisitive, knowledge-hungry third graders who love to create art while learning new concepts and skills. My students come from diverse backgrounds. Our school is located in the heart of Honolulu with many students that attend our school from all over the world. We are a Title 1 school with a high population of ELL learners and students on free/reduced-price meals.
My students are engaged when math centers are integrated into their daily learning along with the latest technology devices that make learning fun.
They extend their learning through centers.
My Project
The dry erase white boards will be used to support the math program for all students. They will use it to calculate and display their thinking during the whole group math lesson. Also, they will be using it for other subjects areas including reading, science, social studies, art and health.
Students will also be using Dot and Dash in their STEM centers.
Students will be practicing communication while working in groups to program Dot and Dash during the science block. Also, because we live in a technology driven society, having access to technological tools will make learning fun and prepare my student for further exploration in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
Like Nelson Mandela said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Technology is another way to enhance my students' education, so they can change the world and have fun doing it.
