This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For the upcoming school year, the inclusion of snacks, banks, and check registers will be essential components of the highly anticipated Financial Literacy class. These tools will not only enhance student engagement but also provide hands-on, practical experiences that mirror real-world financial scenarios. Snacks can serve as a classroom currency, making lessons on budgeting, saving, and spending more tangible and relatable. Classroom banks will help simulate financial institutions, allowing students to practice depositing, withdrawing, and managing funds responsibly. Check registers will reinforce record-keeping skills, teaching students how to track transactions, balance accounts, and understand the importance of financial accuracy. Together, these elements will create an interactive and immersive learning environment that supports the development of lifelong money management skills.

The goal of our Financial Literacy class is to encourage students to stay on top of their grades, show up every day, and make positive choices—because smart habits earn sweet rewards, and snacks are just the beginning!
