Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The financial literacy games, books, workbooks, handouts, and posters I’m requesting will make learning about money management engaging and interactive. Many students struggle to grasp real-world financial concepts like budgeting, saving, investing, and credit. By using games, they’ll learn through hands-on experiences that make financial decision-making more relatable. Books and workbooks will provide essential reading and practice, reinforcing lessons on financial responsibility. Posters will serve as daily visual reminders of key financial principles, keeping students motivated and informed. These resources will bring financial literacy to life in a way that traditional lectures cannot.

My goal is to empower students with the financial knowledge and skills they need to make smart money choices now and in the future.

I want them to understand the importance of budgeting, saving, credit scores, and avoiding debt traps before they enter adulthood. Through interactive learning, I hope to inspire confidence in financial decision-making and encourage habits that lead to financial independence. Ultimately, I want my students to leave high school with a strong foundation in personal finance, setting them up for success whether they go to college, enter the workforce, or start their own business.

My students are curious, hardworking, and eager to learn life skills that will shape their futures. Many come from diverse backgrounds, and some face financial challenges at home, making financial literacy even more critical. Despite these challenges, they are determined to build better futures for themselves and their families. They ask insightful questions about real-world financial issues and crave practical knowledge that isn’t always covered in traditional curriculum. What makes them truly special is their desire to learn, grow, and break financial cycles—this project will help them do just that.
