My Project

I work in a Title I public school; students do not have the resources at home to complete their assignments on their own. We served K - 5th grade students. We have general education, bilingual, and dual-language (English/Spanish) classes available to them. We also serve languages Pashto, Dari, Arabic, Tagalog, and Vietnamese and many more. Most of our students (98%) come from economically disadvantaged families; because of this, many students do not have the opportunities to get their hands on various resources to spark their learning.

My students come from low-income families, they face challenges every day, in and out of the classroom.

It is my job to make sure my students have the necessary materials to develop a lifelong love of learning in a safe and engaging library where they can feel successful. My students are a special group of individuals. They are unique in their strengths, and they will overcome their challenges.

The dictionaries will help students with quality resources to complete research and gain more knowledge about various topics. With access to an updated dictionary, my students will be able to find accurate information from a reliable source. It is important for students to learn to use a variety of tools and resources to study. This skill will provide our students with the knowledge needed to ensure success for high school, college, and beyond. My library is a place that my students really enjoy. Students are encouraged to explore the reference section in the library.
