This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These fun items will be available for my scholars to purchase using their Dojo Dollars. The dollars (authentic looking play money) can be earned for good behavior, regularly turning in homework, academic performance, etc. The money is earned throughout the day. There will be specific things for which a student can earn dojo, but they can also receive it for random acts of kindness, good citizenship or compliments relayed to me from other teachers and staff. Conversely, if they don't follow the rules and do as they should, it will cost them Dojo Dollars.
This project will help my scholars learn about responsibility, accountability and making sound decisions regarding their finances.
They will be given the opportunity to reap the rewards of their good behavior and classroom performance by visiting the Dojo Store. The store will be open every other week on "Fun Friday" during the last hour of the week. This project will serve as an incentive for my students to become good scholars.
