This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I’m a first year, 3rd grade teacher in a Title I school. My students are kind and empathetic, playful, and honest to a fault. We are in great need for resources for our students this year.

Due to the pandemic and doing work online, my students all need additional practice on basic writing skills.

We go through a lot of paper, and they write on their desks with dry erase markers. But the dry erase markers leave their desks pretty dirty, even after cleaning, and I've seen plenty of marker on students' faces after they erase with their hands.

My Project

These Doodle Boards will allow our students to practice their handwriting skills in a fun, clean way. No more using dry erase markers on a desk or going through reams of paper! Students can use the boards at their desks, while sitting on the floor, at Language Arts stations, or with me in small group, without worrying about finding a pencil or paper. They can even take them to lunch for extra practice!

Students will be more engaged and will want to practice writing on these Doodle Boards because they're different, and a lot more fun than using pencil and paper.
